Proximity- the distance between items.

- Group Association: just because things are the same size and shape does not mean people will associate them together if proximity is off.

Having a blog is very important to your website's success. It helps get you more traffic to your site especially if you keep it updated. Such as posting something new on a daily or even weekly basis. Having a blog gives you an immediate online presence. This is very helpful if you are trying to start your own business. You can add a link to another page showing your online portfolio. A blog also allows your clients to learn more about you and your work ethics. Blogging will give you a great opportunity to Network and be heard! Just remember, the more you blog, the more activity your website will receive.

My Website

My website is very simple with little colors. It looks fairly plain and kind of boring, but it gets the information across. If I were to change anything on my site it would be adding more graphics, colors and more information. If I were to change those things on my site it would make it more interesting and people would want to visit it. as of right now I do not believe too many people would be interested in it.

All in all, I would say my website is incomplete and could use some work. For now it gets the point across and I will be doing some changes to it to improve it.

This website is very simple. White background, tan and grey links and black text. As simple as it is, the layout is understandable and the site is easy to navigate. The merchandise is well placed and not crowded. The home page is the best in overall appearance because it has the most design and colors.

Visually, this site is simple with good photos and layout. This type of site does not need to be over the edge with graphics because it focuses on their merchandise.

This website is very bold and eye-catching. When you look at this site it makes you want to continue to the next page just to see what it is going to offer. The color choices are bright and fit what the page has on it. The layout is simple and easy to read. There are many links to direct you including a search engine to help you find things quickly. The overall design of the site matches what they are selling and fits the type of people that shop there.

Visually, the site is fun and enjoyable to visit. There are good color choices and pictures used for the site. It has great layout and easy navigation.

The SPCA website is well designed. It has “easy on the eyes” colors with well-spaced layout. The overall design of the site is very clean and professional looking. The navigation is easy to find and follow. When you go to a new page it has a different picture of an animal in the header giving you something to look forward to.

Visually, the site is well balanced and easy to look at. The pictures are crisp and the font is easy to read. None of the pages are cluttered and everything is laid out the same on each page.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is very important to your website. SEO is the process of improving the quality and/or traffic to a web site from search engines. You need to be sure your site is easily accessible. Using alt tags helps with this more than you know. You can add an alt tag to just about anything on your site. When adding an alt tag, be sure the description matches what you are presenting. For example: If you have a photo of a dog park, do not just put park, the word park can lead to many things. When people are searching for something on the web, they do not always know what to type. The more alt tags you have in your web site the easier people can find them from search engines.
